Unlike regular dusting and scrubbing, windows have to be washed carefully, especially if they are made of glass.
Professional window cleaners generally make a window cleaning solution by adding 6-7 drops of liquid dish washing solution in two gallons of water. Those who wish to do green cleaning can mix a cup of vinegar in quarter bucketful of water. Avoid too much soap; it leaves streaks on the glass windows.
After cleaning the windows with the vinegar or soap solution, wash the windows again. Wipe the surface and the corners of the glass pane gently with a paper towel.
Clean with a soft sponge, without too much scrubbing, lest they make scratches. The sides of the windows will have to be cleaned too, since dust gets accumulated there.
Use cleansing powder that has oxalic acid instead of vinegar to clean stubborn water streaks. Using cleansing powder could be tricky since the windows might get scratched. Test with a small amount of cleansing powder on a small portion of the window.
